Irish Countryside - Oil Painting

Oils on canvas (27.5×19.5 inches)

Autumn in Ireland… and the colours are beautiful. This is a peaceful scene depicting the Irish countryside.

However, there is always something about to happen in nature – if we just wait long enough!

As usual, I love to weave a little story into a painting!

Thank you to Maria Murphy for allowing me to use her lovely photo as reference for this painting!!

You're so right ... a story and all its vagaries is often what makes a photo come to life in ones mind. I love the combination of the two photos: it shows the seasons and makes me wonder ... what happened to those ducks and fox.

Thank you for the comment, Robert! I appreciate using photo's as references for my paintings but at a certain stage I only use my imagination. Yes... the fox and the ducks... maybe he got his breakfast... or not!!! LOL
